Those black panther lamps came out in the 50's....

People us to put them on top their TVs..

Black panther lamps are iconic symbols of 1950s Mid-Century Modern (MCM) and Hollywood Regency decor. Originally popular as "TV lamps," they were designed to sit atop large console televisions to provide soft, ambient backlighting and reduce eye strain from harsh screen glare.

Ah, Ours is not a lamp just a figurine, as well as the gazelle (or impala) purchased in the 80s of course.

In 1960 they were a nickel at the grocery store we frequented.

By 1962 they were all a dime except one store, they were 7 cents.

I have 2 Nagel prints. They were in our living room for years. They're hanging on the wall in the garage now.

How many homes from the 50's also had framed prints of "Blue Boy" and "Pink Lady" hanging on their walls? I still have the "Pink Lady" but have no clue where "Blue Boy" got off to.

My other grandmother had the Blue Boy in her house…

She also had the 50's Genie lamp lighter on her den coffee table... We alys use to play with it and my grandfather would get pissed... I wish I had gotten that after they died..

They also had that popular brass eagle on their den wall, it's hanging in my garage now...

My dad had 2 fancy lighters in statue form. One was a P-51 Mustang and the other was a knight in armor------both were chrome plated.

To light the plane, you spun the prop and the cockpit would open----I still have that one. As for the knight, I can't remember what had to be done to make the helmet pop up to light----it disappeared over 50 years ago.
