I’ve seen these before. I can’t remember exactly where, but I believe these are old vets of either the Napoleonic Wars or the Crimean War.

I was thinking the same thing. Probably want to go find their "safe place" and wanting to change the dialogue to "mentally challenged" so as to not hurt feelings.
