1. Sit at home, travel infrequently, visit friends and family, work on small hobbies to fill your days

2. RV 9 out of 12 months

3. Simple home life, but travel every 2 months somewhere, either domestic or abroad.

4. Take care of your estranged daughters child

5. Get really into metal detecting

6. Just a lot of jello

7. Compete in senior competitions -- 65+ Iron mans, marathons, etc.

8. Never really stop working

9. Spend your days trying to make new dishes while getting plastered on your patio

10. Sailboat, slip one day after 1 too many scotches, die on board, eventually float to the edge of Somalia where pirates taxidermy you and pray at your feet as a local god.

10 looks tempting minus the death part, but most probably gravitate to 1 or 3.

11. Leave the United States 10 months per year and repatriate intermittently.

1 and 9 can be done within 3 so they seem to me to be not needed.

My dad is retired. He hits the gym a couple days a week, umpires hs baseball, goes fishing and get this, plays fricking video games.

I’m already planning on #1, but with frequent travel, mostly day trips to cool small towns and such with about two or three longer trips per year.

But reality will be a mix of 3, 7, and 8.

Hope to find a nice little PRN gig and work 1 or 2 days a week to keep the mind sharp. But retirement is about 35 years away

Probably a little bit of three with less travel and some of eight, call it semi-retirement. Toss in some golfing, dinners at the club. Although, the old sailor in me sees ten as a respectable option.
