but it made the entire group resent the diversity/sensitivity push because it felt one sided.
Because most of it is one sided.

Phrase “slaving away” offensive to you?
No, and people in this country get triggered too easy. It's just cotton pickin' stupid if you ask me.

Several years ago I was in a Mexican restaurant with my then GF and two groups of her friends. One group was visiting the area from Alabama - the husband was a loud BAMA fan, but was funny AF. The other group was mixed race - white mother, mixed race daughter, mixed race grandchildren.
We were enjoying BAMA's jokes and stories until the mixed race daughter got up and loudly proclaimed "I'm not going to sit here and listen to this racist talk."
We were dumbfounded - nobody could recall BAMA saying anything racist. The mother apologized to BAMA and went after the daughter.
After a few minutes she came back in and explained what triggered the daughter. Turns out BAMA had mentioned how his dad made him "slave away" as a teenager working on the family farm.

quote:Not really. One group of people are constantly being held down and continually denied a right of being offended. I am a part of this group and I hope we can bring more awareness to our cause and have other people stop doing the things that offend us. If all the other groups can ridicule people for offending them, why can't my group do the same? My group that I'm proudly a part of, is one that gets offended by people being offended so easily at the most stupid retarded shite.
EVERYTHING is insensitive.
