Not as risky as fighting a 2 front war. Wiping Britain out is priority number 1. With the added manpower and equipment from the eastern front, Britain wouldn't have lasted. The best scenario for Germany is to completely nullify the british navy and keep them away from the channel. By placing every single barrel on the sea wall, you won't see the British royal navy within gun range of that kind of weapon power.
And at that point it's simply a waiting and logistics game. The navy isn't coming. The British aren't going to launch an attack across the channel to attack the Germans. Send the uboats around to the open water and poof. No more Britain.

Maybe one day I'll finally figure out how to pronounce and articulate Chinese names and locations. I really wanna read up on it but every name and place looks the same to me.
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I struggle with Chinese history as well for the very same reason. And on top of that, it's not easy finding any material covering China. It's almost like the world forgot China existed between the 1600s and 1937.

That's a good compare/contrast to show how our society has gone to complete shite over the past century.

No doubt. Thank god the Germans launched their offensive when they did and the Russian revolution happened when it did.

Truth. The lost empires of the far East. That whole region is full of interesting history. Such a shame the languages are so different.

I dunno. As bad as the rise of communism was for humanity, even affecting us to this day, do you think a world with a German Empire in the place of the USSR would be as bad or worse?

Touché. Objectively speaking, the world would have probably been better off as a whole under that world, but the downside (or upside?) to that would be the USA not being the "world leader" we are today. It would be a much more level playing field.

I've always wondered what the world would have looked like had Great Brtitian not got involved and the Germans & Austrians won a sharp but short war that was over before fall 1914. What would our world look like today?

Yep. Anyone who doesn't understand what is happening is part of the problem.

I've been on a WW2 binge lately. I'm just now realizing how that war is maybe the most significant event in human history. I can't think of another that changed the world as much as it did.
You are correct sir. There have been many great threads on this board discussing WWII topics. The free world we live in today is a result of this optimal event in human history. Like all wars it was cruel, inhumane, heroic and any other adjective you might use.
For those of us that were born during the mid-late 40's, watched the world grow from that perspective, it serves our vision well for what is going on today in our country. That being, how could a country that stood so mightily among nations as a bastion of freedom and protections for the world have fallen so far in the eyes of the leftist while those like me watch in disbelief at their destruction of the society that was built.
Thank you dad and all of my uncles for what you did for me, my children, grandchildren and (one) great grandchild for saving the world during that most evil time.
