How do your taxes play any part in this?

Bring back government cheese.

This EBT shite is the worst kind of welfare. Just giving parasites free blood.

I pay taxes. That's why.

If I can't afford to go visit the zoo while I'm working, why the frick should I pay for those who aren't working?

Did you understand his question?

Where does the money for SNAP benefits come from?

What does that have to do with the zoo taking an easy path to identify a person's income level?

The BR zoo just does cheap tickets for all on Wednesdays I think

The tie in to EBT is definitely weird to me

It's just a poor ID. A quick search on the Museum For All site will tell you that these institutions eat the cost.

Not only that, but participants reported "little to no negative financial or visitation impact, and more than 25 percent report increases in attendance, development revenue, and program/membership subscription"

TD is all outrage and no comprehension.

No, the parents and children, paying $40 and $30 respectively, eat the cost.

Go look up your local cable and internet providers. Welfare recipients receive discounts.

The same is true for cellular service, too, I think.

See what I said abt comprehension? I purposely added that the institutions see no negative financial loss, but continue the outrage.

Pricey restaurants should probably end their happy hour bar menus. It brings in too many brokies.

Looks like this zoo is a private not for profit company.

It is. But all that means is that they use legitimate accounting rules to avoid having to pay income taxes.

So, in an indirect way, they are being subsidized by the tax payers.

A private non-profit. Big distinction.

A private non-profit is indirectly subsidized by tax payers.

Did you?

Do you know how private non-profits operate?

Many are tax dodges. They use the IRS rules to avoid having to pay any corporate income tax. That means the rest of us tax payers are subsidizing their operation.

Tax payers get to pay for them to eat and then pay more than they do for a luxury experience. Must be nice
