Philadelphia's Salute to Independence Semiquincentennial Parade has been canceled due to extreme heat in the weather forecast, organizers told vendors and participants early Friday morning.
The parade was set to take place Friday in Old City. Temperatures are set to exceed 100 degrees and feel even hotter due to humidity as the region enters Day 5 of a heat wave. On Thursday, July 2, the city tied its record high temperature of 103 degrees.
Organizers told vendors their first responsibility was the safety of the participants and guests. The production company running the parade was reaching out to participants individually to inform them of the cancellation.
One representative told CBS News Philadelphia organizers tried to find a solution that would allow the event to be held safely, but heat-related incidents, including Thursday's Union Pacific Big Boy event in Berks County, contributed to the decision to cancel.

Uh yeah.. Seeing as how in Louisiana many cities do this during mardi gras every year for a two week period, it's kind of hard to feel sorry that they would have one afternoon ruined.

They cancelled it because they’re about of liberal pussies.

It is very difficult to watch what has became of the country I used to love
I was once a very proud American, that pride dwindles more every day
The division in our country grows wider as I write this. I am well aware of the outside influences that got us here. The problem is that I have no idea what the solution is. Anyway

Absolutely. They were worried about shootings in the daytime with all the World Cup attention. At night??? Never going to happen. LOL.

If Biden, Harris or any Democrat were President, these 4th of July events in these blue states would not be cancelled
There is a reason they are doing this and it's because his name is Trump

The organizers in philly cancelled a Queen Latifa show for the same reason yesterday. Was that also because they hate Trump?

The number of posters melting about a city canceling a parade because they don't want the participants to melt is quite humourous.

Bunch of fat baws that would be crying their arse off about how hot it is and there’s no way they’re going to attend in this heat. Same exact baws. They talk shite but zero chance they’d attend in the same heat. Everyone of them dream about Wyoming in here. Two faced shite talkers. They’re about to pass out just reading this thread.
