The thing is, not a single person out there has experience with this. The city probably rented a crane from someone and is paying all of these firemen to do the lift and rigging
They could have at least gotten SOMEONE with experience in industrial rigging.
I still don't know WTF they think that front leg strap is supposed to do.

It's supposed to keep it stable in case the top is heavier than anticipated.

This is one of the most Louisiana things I've ever watched.

It's to keep it from running away once it hits the ground.

Look at the strap around the rear right leg to match up with the front left leg.

Wish we could hear good audio of other men laughing at these clowns

Then do explain how they should be doing it.

Not a Principle only a Theory at this stage. Tonight we will see if the Theory becomes a Principle.

See, over here in Texas we rely on good old fashioned illegal Mexican labor. They would have had this sucker down before the liquor stores closed.

Or you could just go frick yourself.

Anyone notice something "breezy" going on in the background that these guys clearly haven't accounted for?
Posted on 5/17/17 at 12:57 am to Dont_Call_Me_RAY
I've got a buddy who is a lifting/rigging consultant. Never knew why he got paid so much, but tonight sort of explains all of it. Apparently people cannot be trusted to use even the slightest bit of common sense when lifting an object.

Looks like they lowered the straps on the legs to take up slack. Hopefully the main cradle grabs first.
