Yep, it was pretty obvious that was going to be the case. Sad.

Terrible and tragic. Had battled alcohol and mental health but recently had recovered. Was supposed to be married last month. Very sad.

Wasn’t a temporary problem for him; he had issues for many years.

A professional golf lifestyle can be very lonely out on tour especially for those trying to make it or hang on

I dont see how people can feel sorry for the guy. We all have demons in our lives and all have a cross to carry. Taking his own life is pure cowardice. Now his family has to deal with the heartache for the rest of their lives because he couldnt face his own reality.

I can have sympathy working with suicidal folks and seeing just how difficult that can be to overcome. It’s never as easy as taking a pill and making those thoughts go away. Throw in a substance use issue and it just compounds the ability to keep your head above water. And with alcoholism you’re also likely fighting genetics.

Suicidality to the point of an attempt is so much more complex than just “oh pull yourself out of it”.

Sympathy for those that are battling it, yes. Sympathy for those that cave and take their own life, never.

Suicide is the most selfish act a man can do. Leave all your troubles behind for your family to carry.

Wrong…. I think being a coward was the last thing on his mind… very sad…. Being an alcoholic and having depression is a bad combination…

I’m sorry you don’t have the capacity for that sympathy.

Again, it’s almost never that simple.
