“Pet” Names at Work

Would you be upset if your wife or GF’s coworker had a “pet” name for her? What if she had a pet name for him? Not like a nickname that everyone uses, but, like, just a little private joke name between the two of them. Asking for a friend.

Like baby? That would be weird to me, since I don't even really use pet names with my husband. The most he gets out of me is using the first letter of his name.

Could be “boo” or “bae”. Could be something dumb like a name but not their real name.

It's inappropriate, especially for married women.
ETA: if the guy is gay it's expected. However, I doubt that is the example being given.
