That's true.
OSHA is also a part of the govt. Should they be allowed to legally compel you to wear PPE?

So, defend your position. Should be easy.
It is easy.
I get paid good to wear PPE on the jobsite. The reality is a hard hat won't do shite if something falls 100 ft on top of my head including a bolt.
If I choose not to wear PPE, I lose out on a good salary.
I don't get paid to weed eat but I wear my safety glasses doing it because it protects my eyes.
A mask doesn't protect me or you from a virus. I rather build my immune system and it's rock solid. Covid-19 doesn't stand a chance. So no, I'm not wearing a stupid mask. If it makes you feel better, wear one or stay home. I dgaf.

In short, you do as told for money. And because you're told to.

You are getting worse and worse. It’s kind of sad

If any workplace told me I had to comply with any of that crap I would tell them to take this job and shove it. But that's just me. My body, my choice.

I do as I'm told because it's my livelihood you moron. A mask is not.

My question is, should the gov't be able to legally compel you to wear PPE?
Right now the govt can come into your workplace and fine you personally for not complying with all sorts of federal safety practices. Do you agree with that?

The PPE you wear at a plant are to protect you. Wearing a mask is supposed to protect those around you. That's a big fat fail right off the bat.

That's largely to prevent lawsuits against the employer. Is that also my government's motivation?

I'll wear a fricking paperbag on my head if my job asks me to. I can either comply or be a BLM protestor.

The Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970 established the authority for mandating and enforcing workplace safety protocols.
Each state has differing laws as it pertains to the powers of state and local governments, the additional powers in states of disaster and emergency, etc. It's likely that many localities and states are enforcing rules that they do not have the power to enforce.
Any similarities between your example and the various mask mandates would be coincidental at best in almost all cases aside from any instance where a state legislature actually voted on an expansion of governor powers or local executive powers.
Your take is bad.

I applaud you for being the only person on the OT who would admit it.
