They did a fricking Behind the Music on Chris Gaines. It's still the most fricking bizarre things I've ever seen in music from an established star.

If he wanted to do shitty soft alt-rock he should have just done a small tour in intimate venues similar to MTV unplugged, and marketed the tour as some kind of one-off non-country event.

But Brooks is genuinely a nutjob...and that's from someone who loved his music as a kid. But he is absolutely one of the creepiest, weirdest, most insecure people I've ever seen in the business.. And that's saying something.

I also think he's a fricking sociopathoc psycho, who deep down loves Madonna and Queen (closeted perhaps?), far more than anything George Jones or Willie Nelson ever released. But man that dude is a Fantatsic showman.
