frick these people. I'm not talking about the ones who do it immediately after their death, although that is a bit weird too. I mean the ones who do it months or years after their death to say things like "Thought about you today and remembered that time we..."
Just blatantly exploiting someone's death to get sympathy and attention. And it's never like the person's sibling or parent or someone who is actually still mourning them. It's always one of their old casual friends.

If you happen to believe that the dead are watching over us from the afterlife, you can just talk to them privately you shameless counts

If I ever get this mad over social media, I will kill myself. I will be monitoring my feed from Heaven tho.

That’s pretty grim if you ask me.

You ever think it may help the people deal with some grief they are going through? It maybe helps them feel like they are talking to the person. Have you recently lost someone who was on Facebook alot?

I can't imagine why you would care. If I lost a family member and folks periodically remembered that person, it would make me feel good that the person is not forgotten by others.

So OP shouldn't lump them all in one pot.

Not necessarily something I would do. However I've never really cared what others did. I have a former coworker that passed away over 4 years ago of cancer. Her friends and family still post on her fb, some of her family even wish her a "heavenly happy birthday" every year. Maybe it makes her surviving children feel better that their mom is still missed and thought of by many?

As someone's sibling whose Facebook is still up after his death, I appreciate the things people post a few years later that show they haven't forgotten him. It also gives my Mom an outlet to post some things "to him".

To some I guess could be cathartic. Most are attention whores.

Off topic and I apologize, but I never delete a dead person's contact information on my phone. Just can't bring myself to do it.

Oh for fricks sake, if youndont like social media, don't use it or at least don't use it as much as you do.

I have Facebook/twitter/instagram. I will probably check each maybe twice a month. I don't see any of the shite y'all complain about on this site out the ducking arse

I have seen people wishing Happy Birthday to someone who died. But the thing is they didn't know the person had died. They would write "I hope you enjoy your day" "Sorry I missed your birthday" "Hope to see you soon".

What's wrong with it? It doesn't hurt anyone and maybe it's helps the person feel better or cope with it.

People write on Matt Derenbecker's page quite often and I don't see a problem with it.

What makes you visit a dead person's Facebook page to see this?

Isn't that in itself weird in your opnion.
