It's only natural for sympathy to be offered in the form of thoughts and prayers at the time of a traders and afterwards. I see nothing wrong with it and am happy when I receive a note when appropriate.

Its just you. People deal with things in different way, well wishes and prayers don't harm anything.

I find it insulting that this type thread is often started here after a tragedy, ragging on people offering prayers.
Maybe not all are sincere, but I'd like to believe that most are. As has been said already in this thread, maybe it's all someone can realistically offer at the time.
I just said a prayer for you.

They dont mean that shite. It's just a cliché response in in our culture to help ease mental stress and seem like we care. Scroll through the comments of a tragic event on fb and notice all of the insincere comments. It directly represents religion and Christianity whether u want to believe it or not. I hate it

So your automatic response is to take opposition to those who express grief at the news of a tragedy?
You shouldn't instantly feel the need to act more hurt by the tragedy than everybody else. If you feel that more needs to be done in the way of physical arrangements, then do it. Don't turn on your fellow man because you're "insulted" by their way of reacting to tragic news. That's just divisive and doesn't really do any good at all.

Sadly, it's not just him. People get all upset over something that is no business. That's the world we live in today.

The only thing more worthless than all the "thoughts and prayers" tweets are the tweets and message board posts complaining about the "thoughts and prayers" tweets
