If you “accidentally” show up for the employee soft opening most restaurants won’t turn you away. And they all eat free.

i have gone when places are new but never opening nights. i usually go when they first open before they do their official "grand opening"
maybe it just imagination or because new staff is still being trained but for me, i think the food tastes better after a few weeks when all that brand new equipt has time to lose its new shine and has a few scorch marks on it.
the food just seems to taste better after new places have been open for at least a week or two
