I blew a zero after driving and drinking one beer. Because I proved that I wasn't over the line I faced no consequences. Explain never blow if blowing will prove innocence.

As one should.

Am I the only poster here who isn't a drunk driver?

A hell of a lot better than people that blow and don't lawyer up.

Yikes. I'd imagine that is illegal in some form or fashion.
So looking deeper is appears that I misspoke and hospitals do not charge for the legal blood draw. Cost of testing / labs is absorbed by the state.

In Louisiana you can or could go to court alone, plead guilty and ask to be sentenced under Article 894. It's a slap on the wrist but you have to stay out of trouble for a year, do community service, alcohol classes and pay the fine. But it will not go on your public record or insurance. I'm not sure if this still works
Half right. Can’t use 894 again for ten years. And it reduces dui to reckless driving or similar so a lesser hit on insurance but still costly.

Blowing and performing the circus act only serves to provide evidence against you. No idea why anyone would do it voluntarily.

Glenn Delatte specifically tells clients not to even get out of the car and crack the window to talk to the officer. If he wants to bring you to jail then so be it but do not give them anything
How in the hell does this work? I only crack window and then the officer creates a reasonable cause (which isn’t hard, especially if you’re driving erratically) and then they break you’re window and pull you out then haul to jail for a much likely longer stay in jail and probably hit you with multiple other charges like resisting arrest and multiple other driving violations they wouldn’t have done prior.
Seems like it would cost a lot more and take much longer to clear your name

You mean the cost is absorbed by us the taxpayer

Honest question as I have a nephew going through this, and yes he’s a loser. Has a tattoo. People that don’t blow and lawyer up…what are the odds of them getting off?
I’m sure they spend a fortune, but is it probable they don’t get a charge? My sister keeps swearing he’s a good kid, but I want him to pay the price. He refused to blow and didn’t do their circus act test.
If money is not an issue it is unlikely that almost any traffic citation wasn't issued with some serious transgressions on the part of the officer...keep appealing until there are no appeals left....most jurisdictions would quit after a couple of appeals because it is to damned expensive.

You sound like you have quite a bit of experience blowing dudes.

Odds are pretty damn good if they have to take your blood test and you shell out for a good lawyer (you don’t need to pay more than 10k, even that is too much)
I uh…. Heard it from a friend.

Again, not if you have a good lawyer.

The lawyer can fight the suspension and make it all go away. No suspension. None. What so ever.

Never blow unless you are 150% it will come up less than .06

People that don’t blow
A few years ago, I had a buddy who wouldn't blow so they took him to jail and charged with DWI.
Ultimately, he was fined, put on probation and had to install a device that...he had to blow in...each and every time he got behind the wheel for the next year.
He was embarrassed about it and would go to great lengths to disguise the process.

Congrats on the DWI "nephew"
