Going specifically just to get your beard trimmed and paying for it would be weird, yeah.
My barber doesn't charge any extra to touch up my beard. I keep my hair fairly short and get it cut about every 3 weeks. I keep my beard thick and at a length where 3 weeks growth isn't that noticeable, so my barber always touches up the beard and blends the length of my beard to that of my hair to make everything look nice. It's basically apart of the haircut really.
