Zachary, Louisiana. I’m not saying move to brooks town but there’s several interracial neighborhoods in EBR that get along just fine. I’m lucky enough to live in one, but then again I have absolutely 0 biases or prejudices towards any race for any reason

Apartments man,
I also grew up in Gentilly near Franklin and Gentilly Blvd.

I grew up on Gentilly blvd, in the 60’s, and I agree, those apartments are going to bring incredibly unsavory people in, that will

I'm currently in a "newer" subdivision just north of I12 off 190. They have that huge apartment complex right down the street. The prices seem to keep most of the trash out. Haven't had any issue with any of them, yet.

1970s and 80's for me. It was still decent back then but you could see it turning south.

Apartments man, idk why the frick they’re doing this, I have a feeling the neighborhood is having problems because of the garage restrictions, there’s a bunch of 100k + cars sitting on the street
I thought the apartments were in the master plan the whole time? I think you will have long time before you need to worry about those. I think they will be the priciest in the area with the 12ft ceilings and such.
What is up with the garage restrictions? I thought you could have up to a 3 car as long as your lot is big enough? I see one guy has a red Z06 parked on the street by the lake all the time. If he parks that on the street, what's in his garage?

Man I hope your neighborhood stays nice for 50 years but apartments are usually the downfall. They get old eventually and shitty people move in.

Sounds like he's talking about North Park. Doubt it's going to be run down anytime soon.

I think your right, but apartments aren’t meant to last, that’s my only point

And I never argued that WP was a good school. Just said it wasn't one of the worst in the state. I have no stake in the game as I live in the MHS district but my sons go to SPS.

It's a first home for me. Hoping to move on to something else in 15 or so years. Hopefully that gives me enough time to see how the dynamics of the neighborhood/parish change before making another home perfect.

Apartments get to a point where they need to be updated/renovated, and the original owners don't want to spend the money. They sell them, and the new owners just do the bare minimum. Good tenants move out, and rent drops, letting worse tenants move in. The cycle keeps happening until the place gets torn down

Also I think that the apartments at terrabella will be a help in the short term as it will help to get more retail going in the front. Coffee shop, sandwich/lunch place etc.

Sometimes the hipsters show up in the end and gentrify it.

Why would anyone want much retail in their subdivision?

Agreed hammertime. I'm not a huge Hoa fan like BRG but ours got an apartment complex development near our neighborhood blocked a few years ago and I'm grateful for it.
