ATL built 400 toll road and promised the tax payers the toll would be taken down when 400 was paid for. When it was paid for the citizens had to sue the city to take down the toll, and the citizens won. Now 400 is gravy when traveling against traffic.

Ha! Houston sold its residents the same song and dance about BW8. It should have been converted to non-toll by now too.

The 8 tolls helped built 99

Only 99 is done in 2021, all the tolls will be needed to expand 8 and 99

You should see the toll road that runs along I-95 outside DC.

You gotta love when these boys ask "how long is the commute" from point A to point B. you get all the standard answers (35, 45 etc...) but leave out the fact those estimates are on the "perfect" day. The reality is it takes one shithead to make a 35 minute commute into a 1-1/2 hour slow ride from hell.

Several years ago I had a 32 mile commute to work which took over an hour and costs me $6.50 a day in tolls.

God Bless Texas but The Bush can blow me.

having moved from north DFW where it took me an hour to go 16 miles by way of 380 and DNT.

i prefer BR's traffic it's much more hit or miss. But absolutely asinine there is so much room on 12 and 10 you could have at least one more lane leading up to university lakes.

i have used it! and luckly the company paid for it. Price spikes based off how bad the non-toll traffic is? $12 one way.

I have recently been in BR and the proportionate operational levels are light years from one another. BR is a straight up abortion. Houston (soon to be the 3rd largest city in the US) is so far above BR it's comical

Can you not just leave a little earlier? I mean I live 3 min from the DNT and Southbound traffic in the morning starts around ~7:30am -> 9 am then Northbound ~4:30pm -> 6 pm

Actually its pretty much the same time frame for PGBT / DNT / 635 / 30 / 20 .

I mean you can literally skip the nonsense unless there's weather or a major accident by just being on the road by 7 brother.

yeah if it wasnt for my kids school bus and my wife, we commuted so i had to wait for the wife to watch the kid get on the bus.

380 is a mess all day everyday including weekends.

That sounds like I285 in ATL. I stay off the 285 loop and deal with the 75/85 connector traffic. Going 20 miles on 285 can take 2 hrs and 15 min during rush hour.
