I'm a frequent flyer and there is something about being in a plane that turns normal people into assholes, especially when it comes to families with children. It's hard to describe but its some kind of entitlement: "I paid $400 for this flight, dammit, and I don't want to be bothered by other humans'

This. The people were probably clapping because their flight was being delayed. Who cares about the backstory, if "problem people" are getting kicked off so we can leave, yay!

I feel like it may have been a "we can finally take off" clap. Who knows how long the flight was delayed with sitting there discussing options on what to do and, if the passengers were in the back of the plane, they could have just assumed some other drama was unfolding.

On the flip side, clapping on an airplane, unless the pilot just saved your life, is dumb.

Heard many of these in my day

Love when it happens on Southwest and the pilot announces everyone gets 1 free drink. Now THAT is a round of applause

I watched a guy on Monday practically yell at people in front of him to hurry up and get off the plane.

We arrived at the gate 15 minutes early.

My favorite is when the flight is late to a hub, and they announce that anyone that doesn't have a quick connection should stay seated and let the passengers making connections exit first... then as soon as the plane touches down all 200+ people get up at once to get off.

Why though? The last time I was flew commercial at the airport it was like a dog park. It seemed like everybody was walking dogs around. Blew my mind. When or how did this become the thing to do?

That doesn't even make sense. I prefer to take our dog with us rather than pay for a sitter.

Because it's free I'd rather he come with us than leave him at home when we fly down to the farm. Most people never even know he's with us.

I used to just put my dog in a check bag, but apparently southwest has a problem with that. Something to do with 9/11 I think.

It became a thing to do when everyone realized how easy it was to be able to do it.

It's because of people being allergic. Delta just wants to know I have him. They waive the fee for him every time.

This is our carrier and most people never know he's in there

Yeah people are abusing it and I'm afraid it's going to become a problem for people who legitimately have emotional support dogs (like those with PTSD)

Cool! I gotta get one of those for my dog. Do they have one that would fit a husky?

You misread his post. He was trying to be funny. Failed miserably.

It's makes perfect sense, you carry a dog everywhere in purse or carrier makes you look like a bitch.
