Have you ever scolded your children for no other reason than you were simply in a bad mood or they were just being harmlessly annoying?

Did you apologize afterwards, or did you let it ride and give them a one-way ticket to adult therapy?

I got on to the oldest for something I thought he did.. my wife told me what actually happened.. she thought I should apologize.. I told her I'm sure he got away with something in the past so we will just call it even. I do jump their arse quicker when I'm in a bad mood though.

I probably have but it’s been awhile. I do make a point to apologize when I’m in the wrong.

It's usually because they were being annoying / loud after I asked them nicely to calm down or go down into the playroom.

Of course

And yes, I always try to apologize

Just yesterday, I spent all day cleaning up after Laura and I was utterly exhausted. When I finally got to sit down in my recliner, my 7 year old comes running and jumps on top of me.

I probably yelled at her to get off a little too loud and angrily when she was just trying to have fun, but I was exhausted and tired.

I did say I was sorry after she got off and explained why I yelled.

Reminds me of Bill Burr talking about moms sending their kid to bed early on some trumped up charges just because they wanted some time away from their kid

Many times in life they will get the shaft for things they are not responsible for. (See the poor folks in and around Lake Chuck). Chalk it up to learning how to live life and for all the times they deserved an arse chewing but got away with whatever they were doing.

At least once or twice a week. I apologize for it usually.
