Panhandling at Perkins/Bluebonnet

Just had an entire youth “basketball team” walking through cars in the middle of traffic, putting signs on windows asking for money. They’re literally walking in front of vehicles to panhandle. Five or six 11-13 year olds.
Next week they’ll be out here asking for donations for their buddy who gets ran over. I’d ask where the parents are but they obviously don’t GAF.

I always enjoy their fake jerseys.

Why do you enjoy this? Underprivileged kids looking for funding for their basketball team. Please help me comprehend what’s to enjoy about this.

Because it probably isn't a "real" team. They are just pocketing any money people give them.

God bless them if their parents are pimping them like that

Friday it was some kids whose house burned down. I guess they took the day off from school.

Someone clearly has zero tact when talking to people. Ever heard of being an adult and having a rational conversation with someone without belittling the person you’re speaking with?

Look, i don’t care if kids ask for money for whatever. Walking through traffic and putting your hands on my window on a busy, multi-lane road? Honestly I don’t want one of them to get hit by a car. I had a green light and one kid is standing in front of my truck hold a sign up, seemingly with zero-fricks that he’s in the middle of the road.

There are kids that often stand at Sherwood and I-12 that will have a made up team name with like 14-15 year old kids (girls and boys) asking people to donate to a fake basketball team. It's obviously a scam.

Well, I respectfully disagree. Have you ever had to walk in their shoes?

I have not. I'm 95% sure some of these are scams though. No worries. We can agree to disagree.

Only panhandler I ever took pity on there was the guy missing a leg. Every other one has been a clear scam.

Paul, perhaps I have Lucinda make some of those delightful salmon puffs and we feed these unfortunate children.
