First off, I've got 4 boys. 13/11/9/8 ( we adopted the 2 younger boys from foster care)

So laundry is a never ending situation in my house and it's not gonna get any better.

I'm looking for the biggest in size, and something that will last. We've got ge units now, but they're small. Washer is 3.1 now.

Thanks in advance

When I buy my next washer/dryer, I’m hoping they still make ones w/o electronic controls. Just a top load washer with a mechanical dial for different settings. Same for the dryer. all the electrical bits are what always go out.

Interesting.
What pissed in his cereal?

To answer the OP, I'm fairly certain Napoleon would suggest a Speed Queen. Whatever the biggest size they have.
They don't sell them at the Big Box warehouse home stores, you'll have to get them at a local appliance store.
But, if you're on a tighter budget, just get one of the biggest ones at Lowe's Depot with minimal bells and whistles, and hope for the best.

I don't know... the last I saw from him on this subject was that he needed to research the new 2018 models. They changed the agitation method. I'll try to find the thread. I was glad to take his recommendations and get a SQ the year prior to the design change. That being said, I can't imagine anything still beating out a SQ and I'd still buy another one.

Dont get suckered into high tech stuff. Keep to the basics the best you can. Repairs on all the extras will get you eventually, whenever they have people trained to repair them.
