Paging Napoleon - dishwasher question

I have a KitchenAid type 582-2 washer that started acting up, first off it quit heat drying...now in the normal wash cycle it doesn't complete the cycle and doesn't rinse...
is is worth getting someone out to replace the electronic buttons or simply better to get a new dishwasher?

It’s probably the control board. I had similar issues with a whirlpool. The board was in the door and was pretty easy to change. I could not find a new one but found a used one on eBay and it worked fine. Google your make and model number to see if the issue is discussed on a forum

sounds like the wash sensor could be dirty.
Try removing power from the dishwasher for a minute, then turn it back on and try a rinse only cycle and see if it completes.
It Could be a control issue, but a bad sensor can shut the unit down mid wash. There are diagnostic procedures but they are a pain on dishwashers The cheat sheet is in the toe panel if you want to go through diagnostics. The number you gave is a series number and doesn't help the repair person. I would need the model number to know what you have.
All Kitchen aid units are just fancier Whirlpools.
