Exactly. Don't go farther North than Uptown. And avoid West and East Birmingham. He'll be fine.

Trussville has a reputation for being upscale but it's got a growing crime issue, especially around thd Pennicale Shopping Center. If I were a betting man I'd say Trussville is about a decade away from being the next Center Point.

Only in B'ham for a few months with no family, I'd try to find a loft rental downtown.
Avoid the 280/I65 drives if you can.

I'd prefer an extended stay with a happy hour. In the one I'm in now, it's all you can drink free beer from 5:00 to 9:00.

Damn. I don't venture out there that often (unless I really want Rock and Roll sushi). Living out there has never been option for me. I work downtown and that would be a bitch of a commute.

Highland Park, Crestwood and if you want to get in early, Avondale.

Birmingham is a nice city with great suburbs. I wouldn't hate moving there.

I love it here. It's no Austin, Nashville or Ashville but its growing on me more every year.

Its not bad at all. I enjoy living here. Originally from Mandeville and worked out of New Orleans...got a few dudes from high school that moved here too temporarily.

It's a sight to see. I try to avoid it myself due to how over the top crowed it's got over the past 10 plus years. On the one hand you've got snooty soccer moms trying to act like they're on the Real Housewives of Orange County all the while they're ignoring the fact that the hood has crept to within about a mile of high and mighty Trussville.
It's at the Pinnacle Shopping Center that the two worlds actually collide.

The first time I went to Birmingham, I was impressed. I went with two good friends. Full disclosure: one lived in Mountain Brook and the other lived in Vestavia Hills. So, I guess I saw the best side of Birmingham. Still, I really liked what I saw.

Pretty much, those are the two best parts of town. Mountain Brook is more "old money" I suppose.
