I'm on day 2 of the first recovery week of x3, it was dynamix this morning. I'm probably goign to run tonight because it almost felt like a waste of time. I'm not knocking it, I understand it's purpose, I just want to get a little more out of a routine.

Challenge again this morning. Used last weeks numbers in hopes of just doing better (less rest in the middle of a set etc) and didn't have quite as good of a result as I did last week. Still hit my numbers, but sometimes had to run in to my break in order to squeeze the last one in. Still used the assist this time during the burnout phase but was suffering there too, but suffering is good I think.

Did accelerator today for the first time. It was a good workout, definitely got the heart rate going. I'll say I'm ready for rest week to be over though, I miss the resistance workouts.

yeah, I'm not a big fan of transition week, but I'm determined to suck it up this time and finish them out. Last time I managed to get up to pilates day and then say frick the rest of the week.

Don't worry though, block 2 things will start to ramp up a bit and always felt more resistance based than cardio based.

Good deal. I understand the value in the "rest week", wanting to let your muscles recover and all that. But I just dont' want to lose any of the progress I've made muscle-building wise.

You're not going to lose anything in a week. Keep in mind P90X, 3 specifically, has a lot of core strength in mind. A ton of time dedicated to the core and not so much moving heavy weights. The recovery weeks tend to focus on this strength more than your auxiliary muscle groups. Are you following the mass schedule or the classic?

I still haven't decided on my next routine. X/X2 would be nice, but I don't feel like working out for over an hour every night. Even X3 doubles wasn't an hour every night.

You're not going to lose anything. I can tell you one thing, Isometrix makes you stronger in ways you didn't know were possible. Accelerator? Great core work. Do CVX with a 12 pound or 8 pound med ball and then get back to me. Pilates? One of the best workouts in the set. The Recovery Week is awesome and you'll get a hell of a workout if you give it 100%.

Don't be afraid to up your numbers. Now is the time to start attacking the workouts because you understand what you need to do and the learning curve is gone.

Sabi, bruh. I read your post a few weeks ago and picked up body beast. I was completely out of shape when I started, so even with the light weights I was struggling to finish the workouts. This is my 4th week doing it and I've gotten much stronger.

I'll probably run through the build for one more week before moving to the bulk. This first run through is mostly to build up my strength a bit because I was pretty pathetically weak before. I'm going to run through it again with a stricter diet after I finish this round.

Today was the first time I haven't upped my number in 3 workouts I think. It was just one of those days, stayed up a little too late last night and just didn't have the energy I wanted this morning. Just glad I hit the numbers I did hit instead of pussing out and dropping them. That was the last challenge for about a month. Hell maybe by the next one I'll be up to 15 on my push-ups instead of 12

Are you using the pullup bar? How is that coming?

I didn't today for anything other than the burnout at the end when it's 3 push-ups 1 pull-up. Still don't feel like I can do enough throughout the whole workout to get a better workout than I do currently with increased band resistance. But I'm slowly implementing it more and more on other stuff like with Total Synergistics earlier in the week.

I find the more I've increased my band resistance the more I'm able to implement the bar itself. So, making progress just slowly. Soon, I may start trying to implement like 4 or 5 pull-ups with the assist and when I get to failure I'll swap back to the bands to finish out.

Do you have a good assist band?

I feel like with the assist I could practically do any amount of pull ups. Can really adjust the assist to help when burned out. My wife prob couldn't do 1 pull-up without, but uses the bar/assist band exclusively and does a handful everytime.
