I love the elevator pushups, honestly. I think they're a great breather for me. Now anything with a squat/jump can go play in traffic.

Isometrix this morning...Eccentric Upper tonight. Maybe the ab workout from Tony's YouTube channel.

see, give me squats etc all day. but I can't make it through a round of elevator push-ups yet. Maybe by the end of the program...but not yet.

I'm considering going to the doubles schedule. Doubled up on a few to catch up, thought it was a better workout for me. Now, some of that was just with Dynamix, so not sure how Block 2 would be. But definitely feeling better, just not quite shedding weight like I want yet (down 7 lbs and starting week 3, with a 1 week warmup).

Speaking of abs...when do you do ARX? It's not on the schedule for X3 right?

I think typically (and I'm just going on on assumptions, so take it with a grain of salt) that ARX can be added to the end of any workout you want it to be. I didn't order the version of p90x3 that came with ARX. It'll be a long time before I shed the fat required to see abs anyway

Also, I've heard that when it comes to losing weight, the program kind of starts slow and really ramps up as you progress in to block 2 and especially block 3. The final 30 days is where people really start talking about seeing a difference.

I still haven't actually lost weight on the scale after 2 weeks. I gained about 5 pounds through week 1 and then lost it all through week 2. But I'm not really worried about the scale this time as much as I am just finishing the program. I figure the pictures will speak for themselves.

The Abs and Complex Lower/Upper dvd's are sold separately. The Complex Lower/Upper routines are basically the same as the PAP Upper and Lower routines from X2.

The reason why there is no X3 Abs disc is because it's really not necessary. All of the routines in X3 exercise your core muscles. Besides, I found some routines to do for my abs online (especially those using the pullup bar).

Found a couple schedules online that suggest ARX with Yoga and CVX (Block 1). That sounds about right to me. Just surprised it's not on the schedule.

ETA since forgot to "submit" before Sabi: That's also what I read. Since X3 is so synergistic in nature, it's not really necessary. I definitely feel it in my abs. I guess I'm just used to having to follow up my P90X workout with a brutal 15 min ab workout.

The scale for me is a good indicator of where I am. When I finished P90X a few years ago, I was around 160 (still overweight per BMI BS), so I want to get around there again. Obviously the scale isn't the only aspect, but it's letting me know how far I've come and have to go.

Throw away the scale. Who cares what that crap says. Just get strong. Just get ripped.

Best routine in X3 is Isometrix. If you can do that routine, you're a monster.

Finishing up with phase one, not seeing much body transformation but definite improvement in balance, flexibility, endurance and ability to complete exercises fully.

Is phase two more transformative? I have been eating much healthier and cut drinking down a lot but still having some unhealthy meals.

That's what I've heard. Phase 2 is the best for seeing results.

That's also why scale is important to me. I'm being pretty strict right now on diet. Once I start approaching goal I can cheat a little more than I am. It's kinda miserable, no drinking, no sodas, no sweets, nothing.

Getting close to finishing up week 3. Challenge was last night and whooped my arse again. CVX tonight, kind of exhausted and ready for saturday to get here for a day off. Missing the challenge last week and having to make up everything has got me at nearly 10 days straight without a day off and I'm starting to feel it with regards to just feeling worn out...not that it's a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination.

for those doing p90x 3, how do you like it compared to p90x and what equipment do you need?

p90x is the only one of the series I've done, but I've always seen some nice results with it. My biggest downfall is the only equipment I have is 1 resistance band and a pull up bar. I can still do most of the exercises in p90x, I just have to get creative with the level of resistance with the band I have.

In order to not get completely bored I'm debating buying p90x3, but if it requires a shite ton of extra equipment I don't have I'll pass.

Post Activation Potentiation.

It's a form of training that makes you more explosive. It's not really a gains kind of exercise. It's for athletic performance.

You only need a pullup bar and weights or resistance bands. And a yoga mat

X3 is great, but I still think P90X is better.

why do you say that? I realize it's just personal opinion, but can you give specifics? For someone in my situation, would you recommend giving x3 a shot?

X3 is great. It has a lot of great exercises. Give it a shot. It is geared more towards making you lean. P90X is better for giving you more gains, imo. Someone may disagree.

If you want to get lean, P90X2 will do it, bit it requires some rather expensive equipment.

Besides, you can do what I am about to do. Do X3 and then combine X3 and P90X to make a hybrid schedule. I'm doing that with P90X, X2, and X3.

I'd rather get BodyBeast, but I can't swing getting all the extra equipment right now.
