This doesn't really apply to this thread, but I thought I'd share.
This is a Beachbody thread, brah. Insanity discussion belongs here.

I started week 4 of Insanity yesterday. Feel great physically and mentally. Haven't really lost much on the scale 10 or so pounds, but that wasn't my goal. My goal was to feel better and get healthier. I haven't really altered my diet drastically. I don't eat junk, eat a few quality meals a day and drink plenty of water. Beer on the weekends.

Start block 4 of Asylum tomorrow.
Need to hit it every day this week bc the weekend is reserved for some offshore fishing!

Pyramid + Rip'd Circuit double this morning

Posted on 7/9/14 at 11:07 am to TotallyTigers
Pyramid hurt me the first time.
Started the 3 Day Refresh today.
So far not that bad. Hardest part is finding a minute or two away from clinic to go mix a shake.

I haven't gone through this entire thread, but do any of you guys swap DVD sets? For instance, I have insanity and you have p90x, and we swap for the duration of the workout.
I'm just curious. I'm planning my next workouts and have been comparingInsanity, T25, p90x, p90x2 and p90x3.
Interesting to see other peoples reviews on them all.

If you want to be a lean machine of destruction, X2 is for you. It requires a lot of equipment, though.
Posted on 7/9/14 at 4:51 pm to TigerHam85
I've done them all.
You can't go wrong with any of them. All depends on what your goals are.

Any of you guys have experience with adjustable weights like SelectTech? I've got to get something...just too much stuff that's a PITA with bands or not possible at all. I'd prefer something adjustable if they're legit, rather than having a big weight rack in my bedroom.

Sabi is X2 that good? How long are the videos?
Posted on 7/9/14 at 9:01 pm to tke_swamprat
It's pretty awesome. Videos are about 45 min to an hour.

5 days without a bump? Hope no body fell off the wagon.
Here are my final thoughts on the 3 Day Refresh: before I was never a fan of these starving, low calorie, detoxing "cleanses" because of how little you actually eat. Now.......I'm still not.
First off I had absolutely zero energy during these three days. No energy to workout, falling asleep at my desk at work, couldn't do yard work, nothing. I think this might have been more of a result of cutting out coffee and caffeine cold turkey. Day 3 I ended up caving and having two cups and felt like a million bucks the rest of the day, so I'm almost positive this was the reason why. But this did help me realize how dependent I am on stimulants to get through the day and should probably start cutting back.
Second point, too little food. Probably about 900 calories a day. Going to that from eating between 2400-3000 a day is a drastic change. Wasn't as hungry as I thought I was gonna be, but no "meal" ever filled me up. Lots of vegetables and protein shakes, but not enough. I ended up having the optional cup of broth every day and I added salt to it just so my stomach would feel satisfied. Found a few new ways to cook vegetables though. FYI, coconut oil is delicious.
Third point, no meat. NO MEAT?!?! I'm a goddamned carnivore! I love red meat, juicy chicken and pork loin! You're telling me I can't have any kind of meat for three days?!?!? Alright, I'll try it. Not a fan. At least let me have fish or something.
Some positive notes:
-All the bloat I had from 4th of July and vacation is gone. As a result, my stomach feels tighter in a very good way.
-Some of the poops were incredible during this.
-I slept better than I have slept since I was in high school during those three days.
-Brain power: I seemed to be a little more focused at work whenever I wasn't too tired. That seems to carry over now too.
-Weight loss: I never weight myself anymore so I didn't do it before the program but I usually have a rough idea of where I stand. I did weigh myself after and it looks as though I did lose about 4-5 lbs in three days. Where I lost it? I couldn't tell you because I don't look all that different. However, I feel like my muscles went flat. Again, this could be from not having the energy to workout.
Conclusions: This type of thing is not for me. If you're a little 100 lb girl and were only eating 1200-1400 calories a day to begin with this type of thing will probably do you wonders. My wife would probably do this and come out looking like a cover model. If you're some tree-hugging vegan weirdo you'll probably love this. But if you're like me, a standard guy, who needs a little extra fuel for your workouts this won't do much for you except frustrate you.
The only time I could see myself doing this is right before a beach trip or some other time when I know I'll be shirtless a lot as a cutting regiment. But this whole "detox" thing.....I can detox in other ways without starving myself.
I had a steak last night, I have coffee this morning, and I'm ready to start working out again.

Not completely, but I did skip yesterday. Just wasn't feeling it. I'll probably skip yoga this week, so I can get everything else in.

Well, I'm still eating clean, but there were a few days this past week when I know I didn't eat nearly enough. It's tough to do, even with the weight gainer.

It can be hard, as long as you make it a lot more days then you miss it you're good.

Core Cardio this morning.
The Challenge before dinner. I did 25/12. I should've done 16 pullups, though.
