My P90x3 should arrive Thursday. Can't wait to semi-retire x1 after 4 years.

Working thru the whole thread will still take another week.

Some great posts up in here

I use the assist with my door frame bar. I'm 6'2 so suffice it to say it's taken some getting used to. I either pull my legs up a bit which loosens the assist essentially making it tougher or I kick my legs out in front of me at like a 30ish degree angle and keep them straight. I have a generic version and I've seen videos of people using the beach body version and sticking their knee through it and pulling their legs back like most people normally would. The loop on mine is only big enough to fit a foot through so I can't do that and it's probably not recommended to do it that way anyway , but I guess it is an option.

If you don't want the band there's always the option of using a chair which is a little more adaptable to bending the knees. It's not as effective as the assist band though.

5th week of alpha. Haven't lost much weight despite eating better than I ever have. Not all that surprised. I would need to do two a days to lose more within the first four weeks given my starting point. But these TBCs are brutal. 3 in one week. Woof. Tired of the same work outs so I'm glad beta starts next week. Hoping to see more results as the intensity goes up and I get closer to my beach trip.

Here's to hoping my six pack finally emerges!

I saw some discussion on here about the pull-up assist bands the other day. Do any of you use one on a standard door frame pull-up bar? You know, I have to kick my legs back in order to go down all the way or else I'll hit the floor before bottoming out.

Yes. I'm basically in somewhat of an "L" position at the bottom, with my legs sticking out so as not to touch the ground. You of course don't feel it in your abs because there are a bunch of bands hooked to the bottom of your foot. If you do them slow and steady, it's actually a pretty smooth motion with the assist bands. Would definitely recommend.

My doorway is small. I just bend my knees and hang them behind me. I do that so I can go down really deep. That's how I dead hang.

Plates X was awesome. However, I found the breathing odd. I would exhale when I was supposed to inhale and vice versa. And, (GASP!) I didn't think Tony explained the breathing very well for each exercise. I may actually try the disc again tomorrow.

I opted for sleep instead of doing my workout today.
Tonight is my 3rd 12 and 5-6 hours of sleep a day has caught up with me.

I will make up lower focus this week though

So how do you all use the assist band with the bars that are installed in the doorframes, since you cannot straighten your legs?

Eccentric Lower done today...I hate pistol squats. I feel like I only get down about 2 inches. Everything did go a bit better than last week for the most part.

I never had trouble bending a little bit. Never affected my performance and still perfected my form.
