I've ate what I wanted all my life and been at 215-220 for the last 7 years. I'm not gaining weight at all. I just figured if I eat what I want and do nothing and maintain 215 then surely eating what I want and doing something will cause me to lose weight.

no it's actually a common sense diet…it doesn't even tell you what to eat on a daily basis…it gives you a long list of good foods to eat and how much of each food is a health portion (i.e. - one handful, one fist, one thumb) and then you create your own diet. it really is a game changer for the everyday lifestyle…tony tees the entire package as a lifestyle change not a 90-day fad

Damn. I want in on that. P90X2 Nutrition guide is kind of intimidating.

cool. i followed the original plan pretty closely. phase 1 almost made me too skinny. next time i did it, i just started up on phase 2. was pretty easy to follow except i didn't make the soups in phase 1( actually i made the veggie soup and it tasted like steaming arse)

Also, for those like me that won't follow the diet as strict as they recommend, it's really all about portion control. I cut out all fried foods and fast foods and just put less amount of food on my plate. The hardest thing is passing on all the boudin and cracklins vendors drop off at our office daily.

Yeah Portion control is a big deal…that's good you cut out fried and fast foods…also, try to cut out all food in boxes…if it's on a TV commercial, 99% chance it's not healthy…your body has a hard time breaking down the chemicals in processed food…it may be low calories but your body still isn't getting the appropriate nutrients.

Initially following the nutrition plan is just learning to know how much is in how much food and how much your body requires. After you keep track of what and how much you eat and how much you need just based on listening to your body. Then you can typically just eat clean and eat good portions and not have to worry about tracking everything to the letter.
If you ask most of the country's biggest fitness experts, they'll tell you they have no idea how many calories they eat in a day. They just eat clean and know what they have to eat for their lifestyle.

The day after I started p90x3 two king cakes were dropped off at the office and all I could do was watch them disappear.

It has definitely paid off cooking every meal and cutting out soft drinks and fast food. I just need to work on the amount of coffee I drink a day. Week 3 is starting today and I feel much better already.

Coffee is one of the things I haven't cut out, but I mostly drink it black.

i drink around 2 cups of tea a day, just reduce the sugar and milk you add to it. i mean, obviously cutting it out completely would be best but we all have our little things we love. i've gotten to the point where adding a teaspoon of sugar almost tastes too sweet.

It's crazy, isn't it! My wife brought me a coffee the other day and I thought I got diabetes after one sip. I asked her how much sugar was in it, and she said she only put in half a packet.

Coffee has no nutritional value. If you drink it black it's not hurting you at all as far as weight loss goes.
I drink 3-4 cups a day. Try and stop me.

We cut out boxed food a long time ago. My wife can't have any processed foods so its just fresh meat and veggies for us. Nothing comes out of a can or a box. We also get most of our meat from the local butcher/slaughterhouse instead of the grocery store.

I really need to do better with my diet. I eat what my wife puts on the table. I have just cut back on the amount of food.
No fast food and healthier snacks.
I eat low calorie popcorn in the late evenings. Is this a bad idea?

Support is crucial. My wife has supported my diet completely.
For Thanksgiving dinner, she followed the Beachbody.com Holiday menu. She listens to me, does her own research, and will go to the store and get the things I need.
Just talk with your wife.

How late? Is it <2 hours before you go to bed? If so, its not the best thing for you to do.

I am no nutritionist. I am a common sense eater when I go on my diet. I don't think anything is good late in the evenings.

Do NOT eat popcorn from a box…go buy popcorn seeds and cook them on the stove with a tablespoon of sesame oil (130 calories + 170 calories from 1/4 cup). popcorn is delicious and it's a healthy snack. you'll never buy from a box again
