Maybe a P-39 Aircobra. I believe they had a nose cannon.

Could always ask 777, I think he started out in those. :)

I'm guessing there are some serious FAA hoop jumping required just to get some of those old birds even permitted to fly....now add in functional guns!

That was sweet. I have been an aviation enthusiast since I can remember.

I was even a pilot for a short time.

I also know the cost of things and I can only imagine how much that operation cost someone.

37 mm cannon shooting through the propeller hub.

I was thinking that……and ATF

I’d imagine the FAA was very interested in ensuring the success of this project. Most of those guys are nerds but history buffs.

The P-40 wasn’t a plane that was used to strafe. It was an early fighter that was available at the beginning of the war along with the P-38. It was an adequate fighter too heavy and not very maneuverable.
