I was invited to a quinceanera when I was 31 and several of the uncles kept feeding me beers and encouraging me to go dance with the 15 year old chicks. I'm pretty sure if I had fingered the girls on the dance floor or got a BJ in the bathroom the uncles would have high fived me.
The purpose of the quinceanera is to announce that the daughter is ready to breed. In Mexican culture 15 is fair game.

It seems like I remember seeing someone post a world map showing the age of consent laws and Mexico was like 12 years old if I remember correctly.

There's a double standard for a good reason. The problem is the law recognizes it in cases where it's beneficial to females but not when it's beneficial to males.

Mexicans do breed young. I've always wondered that. With low paying jobs, no education, how do they expect to succeed?
