Bachelors.

I'm a network admin for a large firm in Lafayette.

But thanks for the bait.

Going to the elite postcard tourist towns in Europe can be pretty deflating. Talking about Colmar, Hallstatt, etc.

Not because the towns suck, they're pretty great. But in 2021 you'll most likely be doing it with busloads of Chinese tourists who just swarm everything and prevent even the slightest perception of authenticity.

I took the bait hard lol. But yeah, I still plan to go to LSU and round out a second bachelors/masters in IT administration on the management side.

I won't be fully satisfied until I graduate from graduate school as a tiger in the pete maravich center.

I've always liked ULL, when I was at LSU we used to go over there for Mardi Gras and other festive occasions, Lafayette was a cool little town back then(I'm sure it still is,) I lived there for about nine years after I graduated LSU

Same! Always enjoyed growing up in and around Lafayette. Graduated HS back in the early 2000s and moved to Baton Rouge for a while. I'd still rather live here than there honestly. I see more potential here than anywhere else in the state.

Planning to do all my LSU stuff online. I hope it all pans out.

Ah, yes. Overpriced fishing rods and shooting any animal at a feeder--the experiences of a lifetime.

They should call it Hassleworld. No amount of joy on my kids' faces is worth the torture of that place.

The only good thing about Navy Pier is that it's the starting point of a really nice architectural boat tour down the Chicago river

went to the Eagle's Nest during a trip to Oktoberfest a couple of years ago, the tour made a stop at some little burg nearby, it was one of the most beautiful little towns I'd seen, I'm sure they appreciated the revenue but it did sort of take away a little of the charm to have all of those tour buses swarming the town with tourists, good thing is they didn't stay for much more than an hour

A lot of locals we've talked to mention how much they hate it. Many have added junk trinkets because the tourists don't want the handmade/local wares. They also complain they don't really eat in the restaurants, drink, etc.

I say all this acknowledging that we're tourists too, but we're looking for different things. We want to see the town as it might be if we were the only visitors. The tour bus folks want to buy a t shirt, take 1000 photos of silly shite and then do the same thing in the next town. It's consumerist travel to the max, just use up the experience and move on to the next. I really don't understand how it's appealing at all.

I went, didn't I? I pretended to have a good time the whole time too.

Adults who actually generally like Disney mystify me.
