I work in central Florida and I can confirm that it is exploding here. Definitely younger people getting it because they participated in riots and have been partying.
Hospital ICU units are almost at 100% .
People are taking it seriously now. Most are wearing masks.

I would bet there are at least 10 times that amount too. I can't wait for more studies to be done to confirm that 50 million plus people have had this thing in the USA.

Almost everyone is wearing fricking masks. This board shouldn't be an indication that many aren't.

I'm fine staying in 2 or moving to 3.
Personally, I was good with never shutting down and letting this thing do what it does.
This whole thing hasn't really changed my life though.
I realized early on that we let unquestioned science take the lead and that science is far from perfect.
When the hospitals fill up they fill up, doesn't matter with who. I think the world will have to adapt until this virus loses potency or we come up with a way to defeat it.

I'm torn on whether to root for the NBA bubble. On one hand, I wouldn't mind seeing NBA fans heartbroken. On the other, if that doesn't work, we have no hope for other sports.

Lol. I also work in Central FL. Orlando to be exact. Hospitals are actually typical always close too 100% here (wife is a nurse at the hospitals). I’ve know many who have gotten the virus with few effects. Hell, I most likely contracted it back in February. Yeah it sucked, but I’m also a heavy drinker with someone who constantly gets respiratory diseases dispute not being obese or a smoker.
Stop trying to make this more than what it is. A bad respiratory virus that should be monitored if contracted, but not blown this much out of proportion.

The testing is bullshite...I’m on day 12 of feeling shitty. Tested negative 8 days ago. Wife positive And sicker than I’ve ever seen her. 18yr old positive with no symptoms. Of course he’s the one who brought it in the house...South is a Petri dish.

I think we have seen a lot of them, or at least in NOLA we have. More barriers between people, more social distancing, working from home when possible.
Also elimination of higher risk individuals via death or isolation.
As someone stated above, it may end up with the fatality rate of the flu. Which is only one aspect. Minimizing the spread is the other, this virus appears to spread much easier than the flu.
Looking at Sweden there is a lot of hope that it can be done, but eggs will have to be cracked to do so.
