Our 8 year old daughter hurdled over a rattlesnake.

I thought this was crazy enough to share with you guys.
This past weekend near the Homochitto National Forest in MS, my husband and kids were running around in the woods behind the cabin and literally stumbled upon this bad boy (or girl).

Luckily, our daughter is pretty nimble and was able to jump over it instead of trying to pump the breaks and step right on it. Surprised her little brain was able to wrap her head around what she saw and scream as quick as she did.
The campground manager said it looked to be a Timber rattlesnake (aka a Canebreak rattlesnake?) Luckily, it was chilly and he was very lethargic.
My husband and father in law helped her wrangle it into the container and she released it deep in the woods supposedly.
I will never forget the sound of that rattle.
Very thankful that no one was hurt. Definitely a wake up call for us and how comfortable we become in the woods at times.

Well I do know how to spell "denim" so it must be the latter.

Most Canebrakes are pretty docile and not aggressive. Still probably not a good outcome if you step on them.

That's a pretty low hurdle.
Next time she should try hurdling a log or something that presents a challenge.
