Something about the movement in a nice automatic watch I love

It does have a nice smooth second hand movement

Congrats on the new watch and welcome to the hobby!

That is a nice looking watch, wear it in good health.

Is it weird that your wrists and fingers look exactly like I thought they would?

It's definitely weird that you had mental images of OP's hand and wrist.

The three-date windows are designed so you can see the date when the minute hand is at the 3 o'clock position. While I wouldn't say they are common they aren't what I would call rare either. Whether that Edox actually needs or not with the rather thin minute hand is questionable but it is actually a very useful design feature but many people dislike it because of aesthetics.

Why?

Because, gasp, some people like well-made things (and can afford them) and even like them, even more, when they accomplish a useful task. A well-made mechanical watch is a testament to one of humanity's most important measuring tools. It harkens back to a time when craftsmanship was appreciated.

Why do women buy several dozen or even hundreds of pairs of shoes?

I'll give you 8 months until you take the next step and get an Omega or Rolex, then an AP, then Patek, etc.

Because if your occupation/hobbies require you to go to sketchy countries you can buy your way out of trouble by handing them a Rolex or any other popular lux watch. I'm 100% serious about this too.
