2 year old flushed wife's deodorant stick down toilet. Am I going to have to pull the whole unit off the floor?

I take it wife has smaller hands, get her to stick hand down toilet to see if she can reach it.

Most likely but will need pics of wife to verify.

Is the toilet stopped up?
Is it on the first floor or second?
If the toilet still flushes then it's probably down the sewer pipe already and unreachable. If that's the case hope it doesn't get stuck down stream or you'll be calling roto rooter to push it down the line.

Its stopped up so o think it's still in there. Second floor.

Prob so. I would assume that it's stuck in the p trap built in. You'll prob need a new wax seal, maybe $3. Def replace that when you set the toilet back. Good luck
Oh and by the way, this is an OB question for the baws. I know, I'm one of them

This. Home Depot and Lowes are open today. Spending a couple bucks on new wax seal and DIY will save you $$ from calling an actual plumber.

I'd try to use a toilet tool to try and fish it out. If its there and you can't get it, it's only 2 bolts and you'll need a new wax ring. 20 minute job.

Probably will need to pull it up, but its not too difficult. Buy a new wax seal, drain as much water as you can out, and I'd remove the seat. If you tip the toilet up the seat can flip back and crack the tank.
You can fix it in under a couple of hours.

Pull the toilet, it could still be lodged in the toilet itself or just below in the drain if so you might get lucky. Do you have a clean out somewhere on the main floor?

I wonder what percentage of a plumber's work is fixing DIY jobs that went wrong.

Get one of these. I hate those wax seals

Most likely, if stopped up, then it's still stuck in the S-trap in the water closet itself. Easiest to pull the toilet up. Then try to push it back into the bowl
Trying to reach through the bowl can result in pushing into the sewer piping, and that can get expensive
After pulling it up I recommend new wax ring and closet bolt set. Cheap, and better to replace then try to reuse.
DO NOT over tighten the bolts. Porcelain will crack. Tighten till snug and to point toilet doesn't shake/wobble.

you can get a bottle of sulfuric acid. over time, the acid will eat away the stick. good luck and don't get that shite on you.

I'm going to pull the toilet. Getting new wax for sure. Hopefully I'll get lucky and it will be an easy fix once off the floor.
