OT Mechanics - Snapper Mower

OT Mechanics,
So first off, I'm an idiot when it comes to being mechanically inclined. I borrowed a neighbor's snapper mower to cut my grass. Cut fine. I of course wanted to fill it with gas before returning. It was pouring down rain and I was distracted,
and accidentally put the gas in the oil intake. Not knowing, I tried to crank it up. Of course it did not start. Scratching my head trying to figure out why, it hit me.
How hard is this to fix? Please tell me I didn't ruin his mower.

Pull the oil plug and just drain it

It's also probably a good idea to put oil back in as well.

Drain the oil/gas mixture and oil filter if it has one (doubt it). Refill with fresh oil and fill with gas in the gas tank. Should be fine.

I have it under my car port cause it's raining. I assume I should do this in the grass since it will make a mess.
Can this wait until tomorrow when it stops raining?

I used to run Snappers many years ago.
Unless engine design has changed one of the easiest ways to catch the oil you are draining is to cut a plastic 5 gallon bucket and place under the drain before pulling the drain plug.

Someone usually cuts it on a regular basis. They haven't come in a while for some reason. Was looking awful. Took matters into my own hands. Didn't go so well.
