youre acting like he just up and said frick the dad, we're moving cross country.

I'm not acting like anything. My reaction is based off what little info he offered. I asked for more details. If he doesn't provide them, I certainly understand but I'm not going to dogpile on the kids father just because the op doesn't want to have his cross country move interrupted.

So what? The dad is serving his country too. OP is the one that married a fellow serviceman's ex-spouse and knew they had a kid, which he knew the dad was close to.

The other father is in the military as well, at any moment, that could be him getting orders to deploy to Who knows where.

That's right and if that happened, he'd be in a pickle too as it would be shitty to take the son from the mother. But that's not the case here is it?

Yeah he should just refuse to deploy. You can so that right?

What kind if whore takes her son away from his father just to follow another jackass across the country.

frick your life, it's about the kid. That kid will hate you when he is old enough to figure the truth.

If this father wants his son close, you will lose. Especially if the kid is in school. The court s care about children and disruption of their lives. Screw your life.

Your wife sounds like a POS

Is he deploying or just transferring?

Did he request the transfer?

He can go where he wants, wife and kid have to sort it out with legal system.

This is what I'm wondering.

I had a buddy this happened to. His wife married a guy in the army and a few years later she calls him and tells him her husband just got transferred and they were moving to Washington DC with his teenage son.

He did some checking and he found that they had been trying to get transferred for over a year and never bothered to tell him.

He took them to court and the court sided with him and gave him custody. So it worked out in the end.
