how big of a sport it is

Kid is in the middle of the track where he shouldn't be. Cars are moving fast and obviously volatile. There is enough reasonable doubt there.

Civilly, you can't get past the fact that the guy left the safety of his car and stood in the middle of a race track in front of a moving race car
Those are the facts, and cannot be disputed.

Yes. You obviously have no knowledge of the exercise routine they have to go through to drive these cars for this distance staying focused all the way through to the end.

I'd be really surprised if he goes to jail, but this will cost him. The kid was wrong to do what he did, but I don't think he deserved to die for it. All Tony had to do was go lower on the track, to avoid the guy; the race was under caution, so no reason for him not to. I don't know if there are multiple videos, but in the video I saw with audio, it is obvious Tony was trying to send a message. I don't think he meant to kill the guy, but he was definitely sending a message. I have a hard time understanding how people could have watched the video that I saw, and have a little racing knowledge, and think Tony did nothing wrong.

He definitely accelerated. The kid was where he shouldn't of been and lawyers can use reasonable doubt to argue this in circles.

not obvious...pure speculation on your part.

Please speculate as to why he gassed it as he passed the kid.

Why don't you prove that he gassed it first?

are people defending TS in this thread?

There is a video with audio. Unless someone doctored the video, no doubt that he gassed it when the guy was right on the side of his car.

I guess he is the only car on the track so the sound of a vehicle "gassing it" must be from his car.
How can you be sure that the sound of the car accelerating is not from a car not seen on the video and closer to the mic?
again pure speculation on him "gassing it"

LOL
I don't know. The fact that you see his car swerve/move quicker at the exact moment you hear the rev of the engine.
Posted on 8/10/14 at 4:45 pm to RedRifle
I think Stewart and the guy that he hit were both kind of coming at each other aggressively.Stewart had a car whereas the other guy had a helmet and a fire suit.

bullshite.
No way you can visually see him accelerate in the limited amount of video. He didn't fire afterburners or a rocket.
You are basing that solely on sound.
and of course you would never expect a driver to swerve with a guy standing in front of his car.

No matter if Stewart was pissed or even if he was trying to frick with the kid I see no way that Stewart intended to hit the guy.
For it to be Criminal doesn't there have to be intent or criminal negligence?

Not a lawyer, but it would seem hard to prove that it was intentional imo
This. It doesn't look so clear cut after seeing the video. I know what I think happened, which is that they both lost their temper. But there's room for reasonable doubt.

You're usually very reasonable. Surprised to see you taking this stance here.
