OT Lawyers: Electronic Filing in District Courts

Has there been any progress on parish district courts getting electronic filing (besides Jefferson)?
This paying "per filing" is nonsense. It seems like every other court in the United States (including the LA federal courts) has bought into the "pay up front once" method.

Do you have any idea the number of people that work in courthouses/clerk's offices?

Electronic filing really just saves paper. Which is great.
It seems to speed stuff up too. At least here in Florida. Unfortunately not all counties have moved to it, and I have noticed a sizable difference in turn around times for the counties that do compared to those that don't.
It doesn't get rid of jobs, despite the notion that it does. It actually creates a couple of jobs at each courthouse for those that know how to support it.

E-filing is definitely awesome if your work has you working in a lot of counties or far away counties. Right now I work across the street from the courthouse where 90% of my practice occurs so I don't do e-filing but when I was working in downtown Atlanta it was awesome.
I know Fulton County, GA is mandatory e-filing and there's still a big staff in the clerks office.

It's pretty awesome here in Texas. No more sending runners to file things or faxing things.

I would think the initial cost/work of scanning all the old files into the system deters a lot of parishes from switching over.

Here we pay per filing. It's because our government is too lazy to develop good in house efiling like ECF, so it's all third party contracts. I'm sure LA is similar.
It's like 7 bucks per filing, ridiculous

There are a few counties out here in NorCal that do electronic filing. State Superior Courts as a whole are supposedly moving towards that.

They have "Remote Access" to view I believe - not to file.
As far as I know, Jefferson Parish is the only one at the district level that allows e-filing. A few of the courts of appeal do and the LASC does.
