Looks like 7 years, minus the time served... then 8 years of paper. All concurrent instead of consecutive

7 years in jail, 8 yrs probation after release, since the sentences were to run concurrent. That is a long probation period though. Since I don't believe any of these charges carry the 85% rule that most states have for violent crimes, this person should be out within 3 years or so, unless GA classifies the trafficking marijuana charge as violent.

GA parole is available after 1/3 of the sentence. Does that mean after roughly three years he will have 8 years probation after?

The confusing thing about the file update was "Probation" before the 4 charges with 7yr/8yr sentences and "confinement" before the charge with 12 month sentence. Does "ct. 3" mean count three?

Looks to me like the things under probation have charges only if he violates probation. He was sentenced to confinement for 12 mos which means he'll be out in 4 w/ good behavior then continues the probation for a total of 8yrs. If he violates the probation he has to serve the remainder of the sentence.

Basically this scene, and I'd like to think with the funny twist at the end.

Malcolm X Sentencing Scene

Poor Shorty.

which would make all that judicial process worthless, except to give those people jobs.

That's Latin for "no longer prosecuting". In other words that charge was dropped.

Your "friend" has managed to seriously frick up though.

Looks like either the Judge or the Clerk or the PSI Writer messed up the language.

The 7 years confinement under the Probation tab is more than confusing, I t’s probably unenforceable by the DOC.

My thought is that this sentencing minute entry needs to be modified/corrected.
