I have a sister who is a piece of shite meth head who has power of attorney over my fathers assets. Undoubtedly she will soon turn my fathers home, who is in a nursing home into a dope hangout for her and her friends. Is there anyway I can get power of attorney away from her? No way she could pass a drug test, along with atleast one arrest so far on her record, kids taken away earlier this year. I don't wanna see the home I grew up in sold or turned into a drug den.

Yes you can, but you will probably have to go to court to do it. It will be easy because junkies don't show up to court, but you will want to get a real lawyer to help you file what you will need to file.
Actually, the easiest and cheapest thing to do would be to have your father draw up a new POA naming you and revoking all previous POA powers and then tell her to frick off if that is an option.

You must be a real a hole if she's a meth head and dad signed poa to her. Instead of fricking her over and losing all the inheritance over this court battle, maybe it's time for some self reflection. Could be gods way of telling you to chill the f out and mind your own business.

I'm not a lawyer at all but just went thru a similar situation.
I went to court and got custody of my mom, got my siblings POA invalidated by hiring a lawyer to represent my mom. The lawyer was wonderful and patient and explained it all to mom, found out what she wanted and drew up the papers for medical, legal, financial and complete POA to be awarded to me.
You may want to contact the dept that deals with elder abuse and explain your concerns about what your sis is doing. They can offer help and can start a case documenting your concerns. They can investigate your sis if needed. Their support will also help if you have to go to court to fight for the POA.
I also was in touch with the medical people (hospital,nursing home) who were dealing with mom and her medical issues. They also have social workers and case workers who can help guide you.
It also helps if you approach them with the desire to be an advocate for your parent so that you can carry out your dad's wishes - not just as someone who wants control to as they please.
Hope this helps some and I will recheck this thread to see if there is anything else I can offer as help.
