friend of mines wife just bought a 12 4 door rubicon and lifted it. It will never be off roaded. I don't get why anyone would buy a rubicon and not use it for what is. I bought a sahara because i did need all that other stuff.

As an 07 owner I will agree. However, justifying the extra cost for a weekender is probably worth suffering with, the sluggish engine.

Since it's a 2008, you've got the 3.8L in it, not as great as 3.6 from the 2012 and newer, about 90HP less, i would just monitor the transmission. The 42RLE can be troublesome sometimes. An aftermarket transmission cooler can help.

No real problems though, if it's a daily driver, have fun.

I hate the look of the sidewall bulging out past the end of the tread.

Unless you are rock crawling and need the transfer case, you dont even need the rubicon even if you are off roading.

Save the money on the transfer case and spend it getting the gears you need, instead of 4.10s

I like the poison spyder mount. However I dont wheel at night though, so no need to waste a grand on one or whatever they cost now

Well they aren't spending your money so let people get what they want.

The same can be said for 4wd trucks, or trucks in general, in addition to plenty of other things.

I know it sounds like a dick response, but it isn't meant to be. It's hard to convey tone through text only.

Well I am certainly not opposed to taking it off road by any means of the imagination. I am sure I will want to once it is sitting in my back yard. Are there any fun places down here in LA to go?

Legally, no. But they have trail rides several times a year thru the local numerous Jeep clubs around the area.

Are those the Bushwhacker flairs? I need some new ones soon and looking at those. But need something with the fender liners. Ripped mine off a long time ago.

Judging by the other items, Id say they are the narrow Poison Spyders. I could be wrong.

What do you need the liner for? lots of mud?

Not a dick move i understand it is my money but if your not using it why pay extra for it. don't understand it when most people who by them don't know what a rubicon is or purpose is

Fighting tigers... Can I get a pic of the actual rim? I'm looking to bump up to larger tires once I get my AEV lift on my 2014 JK, and I have stock rubicon wheels with BFG mud-terrains that I'll be looking to take off and sell/trade (roughly 1500 miles on them).

ETA: I got the base model 2014 sport so that I could build it up into what I want it to be. Got the stock rubi take-off wheels/tires basically for free, and that's why I have them on there.

Ripped one off long ago mud ridding. There is a huge gap in the frame above the pinch seam where the fender meets up with the firewall area. Since this happened I cut my fenders. Just tired of cleaning out all the crevices that the fender liners cover up.
