I thought after reading your title and first sentence that you were an idiot. But, then I read this line and all doubt was removed.

And before anyone starts saying how their doctors don't see poor people...you forget that most senior citizens have Medicare.
What do having Medicare and being poor have to do with each other?

So hating the medical profession is the new cop threads?

PS - to clarify, I don't think doctors in general are increasingly lazy. There's good ones and bad ones just like every profession. They are more tight lipped now especially outside of the treatment room which is an evolution of increasing malpractice suits industry-wide.

It doesn't. I was talking about Medicaid. Some people may think their doctors don't see "those poor people with Medicaid." Even though more than likely they actually do.
Was just pointing out the lack of proper Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement affects most every doctor's office.

I see. There are plenty of docs who don't take Medicaid actually. I do because I pretty much have to because of where my practice is located. But the reimbursement is terrible. Sometimes I can't operate on those patients because the surgery center I operate out of doesn't accept it. It's definitely a problem.

You never mentioned what your complaint was. It could explain why he was in there for 3 minutes.
Are you 15 years old (strong possibility judging by the way you post) and have a cough and runny nose?
He doesn't need to do a complete physical exam for that. Do you want him to stick his fingers in your arse? If you do, just ask.

I completely agree with you, my primary care doctor is so quick with everything he does. He comes in asks if anything is wrong, makes about 30 seconds to a minute of small talk then out the door he goes. As he's leaving he tells me the nurse will be right in with my script. It's horseshite how lazy my doctor is.

Go be a resident for one month. Report back.

I'm tired of all these "my doctor is lazy! He doesn't spend enough time with me!" Posts with no other explanation
Are you 65 years old with a handful of chronic diseases and on 10 medications?
Or are you a 25 year old healthy hypochondriac that complains about every itch and scratch
If it's closer to the later you need to STFU. If you are lonely and looking for a friend go to the pound and pick up a stray cat

Since you decided make assumptions and generalizations about a profession as a whole instead of switching doctors, i'll join in.
Believe it or not, doctors do more than write your viagra and your kid's adderall. A lot round in the hospital, work ER shifts and just work in clinic half days. Sure some doctors have adopted an easier lifestyle for a cut in pay. Patients deserve respect, but don't expect it if you don't give it. If you still think you do, switch doctors.
NPs play a huge role in healthcare. Mostly their experience. But the best nurses are the nurses that know their limitations, same for doctors. Stop with your generalizations. Your entitlement seeps through your pores and will make a terrible hospital stay if you ever find yourself there. Be sure to ask for the NP.

It's horse shite how lazy my doctor is.
Why did you go see him?
Did you have any complaints?
What did he not do, that he should have done?
I'm starting to think that the OT is just a bunch of lonely middle aged people who need a hug and a pat on the back

The doc just knows you're a dick who goes to a doctor for stupid shite.

I think it indicates a lack of intelligence to be able to convince yourself that "doctors" are a single homogenous group that could be labeled as lazy.
You realize you're on the O-T right? Generalizations are the norm. They're expedient.

Also know that every single doctor you've ever seen has worked their arse off to get there no matter what speciality.

I do know Obama care is giving them a case of the red arse. It is understandable.

Do u think the Dermatologist needed to look at your acne for longer than 10 seconds to know what to give u?

This is what the road to universal healthcare looks like. Longer wait times, shorter visits, and entitled patients.
Unlike 99% of occupations, doctors largely can't bill based on how good they are at what they do (except in cosmetics). They get paid mostly for volume of patients seen, and they get paid less and less as the years go by treating patients who are becoming more and more entitled. Imagine being a plumber who charges $180 for some job. You do it, and the client says, "Well, you may charge $180, but I'm only paying $100. And you have no choice but to take it." That is essentially what happens. Then, add in malpractice and increased regulations and increased paperwork and $300,000 of debt. It's a recipe for disaster.
If market forces were allowed back into medicine, much of this would be sorted out. Continue paying all doctors the same regardless of quality and you get what you pay for.

They don't
This is just a case of fast and efficient = lazy, arrogant, and greedy
The government has created this monster. The doctors are just responding to the constraints that have been placed on them.
If the government constantly changed the rules of your work environment and dictated how much money you could make, I'm sure you would just roll over and take it right? You wouldn't try to become faster and more efficient at your job to make up for it right? I'm sure I will never get a response to this question, but that will stand as a response on its own.
