Half of my house has been losing power throughout the night. Same rooms each time. Totally random on the panel. Like a few from the left, few from the right. After awhile it magically comes back on. I thought it was like a Delco third line issue(I don't have a clue what I am talking about) Anyway, after troubleshooting, I realized when the downstairs compressor kicks on, all the rooms light up. Then when compressor kicks off, boom, they all go dark.

So is my ac compressor about to burn my house down? Already called electrician for appointment, but my fridge is on one of the lines going down, so I cranked the Ac down so the fridge stays on.

I would not use the AC-

when you say losing power are the breakers tripping?

This could also be a power issue from your provider

Either way this is how fires get started

Get a professional ASAP

I found out that one of the 2 lines coming in from Demco was not working. So electricity was going through the AC to power the other side of the panel when it was running. Awesome!

You have a loose connection in your panel.

Demco said it is underground between the box and my service on side the house. Waiting on the "undground" truck. This will be interesting.

I had a similar issue, except it was when the microwave was on. Turned out to be a bad neutral/bad arc fault breaker.

A bad or loose neutral wire can burn your house down. Hopefully for you it's not a big issue to find (if that's the case).

I would not use that A/C until the problem is corrected, Sound like you have a dead leg and backfeed thru the A/C unit. Could burn up your compressor.

Bad neutral at the panel or DEMCO's transformer is dropping a leg.

Based on what you've described, my guess is the issue lies somewhere between the box and your service (probably on side your house). Demco will likely send an underground truck to check it out.

Final result... drainage guys who ran pipe stuck shovel through one of the lines. Demco guy said it takes a few months for the moisture to burn the aluminium and calcify it. Then it just stops passing electricity. They changed the underground line and we are back in business.

You'd better have a licensed erectrician (har) visit else you could hear this in your sleep:
