Is cough productive?

Not really.

I've been on hold with the doctor's office for 20 minutes now.

I feel dumb even calling to find out. I feel like they're going to think I'm a hypochondriac.

If you tell them your main concern is your preggo wife, they won't think that. Trust me. They have people calling their doctor and going to ER's saying they are coughing with no fever and wanting to be tested.

Went back and reread OP, if your fever is gone, you should be fine. If all you have left is the lingering cough, I wouldn't go in. Even if you recovered from CV, you may have that lingering cough for a while. Also, if this is a case of CV that has turned for the worse, your fever wouldn't be letting up, it would be getting worse and staying up to the point you may even get delirious and fall down, etc. I wouldn't worry about getting out there and getting tested unless you get much worse. You don't want to expose your wife.

Update? Did you reach your doc? Curious, what did they tell you?

Yes, I finally reached them by phone. I told them my symptoms and they read from a list of questions and seemed to be slightly concerned that I went to Disney World recently. I have an appointment by video through mychart later because they don't want me to go in in person.

Also, my fever has started to come back. I have a low-grade fever as of the past 30 minutes or so.

With a pregnant wife I would absolutely get tested.

Yea but I don't think that's up to me. Honestly, in my completely amateur opinion, there are others who would much more closely match the criteria to be tested than me. I don't know, though. Maybe having a pregnant wife changes that. Who knows.

Monitor the fever and stay away from your wife for sure until you have the tele-doc convo.

Diagnosis:

You'll be fine. Ride it out. That will be $3.50 for the diagnosis. Please Venmo.

Probably! That's what's made me so hesitant to even call in the first place. Just concerned about my prego wife being around me.
