OT docs - weird recovery issue

Docs - On Sept 1 I had a rotator cuff (supraspinatus) repair, acromioclavicular joint repair, and my humerous resected after getting hit by a car. Started rehab a few weeks ago, going fine, but last few weeks have had intractible pain on front of shoulder into bicep. PT and surgeon said it'd work out. Constant pain, kept me up, in addition to the "standard" soreness of recovery.
so last night after feeding the heathen dog outside I slipped on the door frame and fell, instinctively caught all 225# of myself with my right hand (surgical side) as I fell. F***ing hurt. But an hour later, the shoulder felt fantastic. and all last night, and all day today. My ROM is better, pain is 10% of what it had been just before the fall.
This is great. What happened?

You actually died, and this is all just your brain shutting down.

Hopefully you broke free some adhesions/ scar tissue

Did you start jerking off again? This could explain the lack of make memory.

"start jerking off again"?
never stopped, and proud of it. I'm finally ambidexterous in that department.

Popped your biceps tendon

Manipulated your own shoulder. Often we do these a few weeks post op under some light anesthesia because the pain is so unbearable.

I'm no doc, but this is pretty fascinating....looking forward to hearing the answer...

This, may have busted an adhesion loose

Go outside and start throwing the baseball around. Good chance you can now throw a 100mph fastball.

Happened last night? Give it a few days and come back then. Sounds like a self manipulation. You're past 8 weeks post op so you should have already been doing active and resistive exercises by now in PT. I would have been more concerned had you caught yourself 4-5 weeks ago since active movement of the cuff isn't allowed for the first 6 weeks. Sounds like you were unlucky and lucky all in one.

Your shoulder may have been seated a bit too far forward, creating some impingement in the anterior shoulder. You may have forced it back into the socket and given the tendon some breathing room

Can you get your money back?

So went to PT this morning, PT said it likely tore out an adhesion. Measured ROM with me moving it and PT stretching it out, all directions had a big increase over Monday. And the pain I felt during session was much less. Sitting here now it shoulder feels even better.
Damndest thing to me. But PT said she's seen it a few times before.
