OT docs - lipid panel results

My doctor says all these levels look okay and to just follow up with him at my next scheduled appointment (which I don’t have, by the way). But a quick google search says some of these numbers are cause for concern. I am 34 and weigh about 160lbs.
What do you say?
Cholesterol - 166
Triglycerides - 114
HDL - 28
LDL - 115
Non-HDL Cholesterol (Calulated) - 138
According to the googles, I need to increase the HDL and it appears that my cholesterol is high. What are the opinions of OT doctors? Am I reading these numbers incorrectly? Do I need to tell Popeyes’ chicken sandwich to kick rocks?

This is the most concerning part. It can increase your risk of heart disease. Increase good fats ....exercise....eat fish...don’t smoke.....etc.

Absolutely not, your Triglycerides are looking damn strong, keep up the good work.

How much of this lipid panel crap ever been tied to real health issues in a scientifically sound way?
That's a broader question than OP's but it's a question I've long had.

The day the doctor tells me to quit eating gumbo may as well be the day I begin planning my own funeral.
I will eat gumbo til I die.

You’re total cholesterol is fine.
Yes you want to get your LDL/HDL ratio lower to a 2.5 or lower.
You’re not overweight

A causal link has not been established and most recent research indicates that heart disease is more closely linked to chronic inflammation.

Can you tell me what magical formula you used to determine height based on age, weight and the other numbers in OP’s post?

Ideally your HDL should be around 40 (50 would be great) and your LDL around 70.
You are young so just adjust your diet a bit and maybe exercise.
* I am not a doctor, just a 12 year heart patient

low HDL and higher Tris.....that's my take
You need the HDLs at or above 60 (or so) and the tris < 100
ETA: on second glance, the tris shouldn't be an issue.
Its all HDL.....

Overall it should just be a wake up for you. If you aren’t over weight then just include the things I mentioned earlier. With the realization that some of it is genetics. So be as healthy as you can.

The OT has a 6’2” minimum. The exception is if you were once 6’2.5” and have shrunk an inch, with age.

That's basically what my doctor told me, years ago. Atherosclerosis involves cholesterol formations, and there are drugs that can make you look better on a blood cholesterol test, but beyond that we have only implication. There's no proven link between taking those drugs and health, or between blood cholesterol level and health.
So, what I do is pay a lot more attention to things like weight and blood pressure than to those numbers. Just never been convinced they mean much.
