I have a rotator cuff issue. X-ray show a bone digging into it and causing limited motion and pain.

So I had an MRI done on my shoulder to get a better a look at it. My follow up for this was previously scheduled for the end of the month.

No more than two hours after the MRI a nurse calls me and says the doctor wants to see me tomorrow instead. She also mentioned that he is squeezing me in.

What.
The.
frick.

Could just mean a cancellation. Or he knows you're in pain? If you are in a lot of pain?

Or shoulder AIDS.

Sounds like your doc is trying to help you out by getting you an earlier appointment to meet with him.

Well...according the the average OTer, he's just getting you in to charge you and office visit and force pain pills down your throat.

Because all doctors are the devil.

You need surgery, so he wants to do it sooner rather than later. As in, before he goes to Cabo for a week and your shoulder is already killing you.

"Bone digging into it" sounds like a description of impingement syndrome. Hopefully he's not trying to make it sound bad enough to do surgery, because that can usually be fixed with a subacromial steroids injection and some therapy.

Juggling his scheduled patients to fit his personal schedule whether that be from call that just got assigned, vacation, or other reason. . He moved you forward because your work up was completed, because patients hate to be moved farther away, and/or because of your level of pain.

Elective subacromial decompression will be suggested.

Your doc wants to move up your imminent surgery. That Mediterranean cruise he's taking his wife on this summer isn't going to pay for itself!

He probably saw that you have good insurance and pathology amenable to minimally invasive surgery. Easy money for him.
